Tuesday, Nov 26th, ‘Dr. Evelyn’s York’: Dr Evelyn was a surgeon in York at the beginning of the 20th century, he was also a keen photographer and passionate about the conservation of York. Ian Drake returns to give an illustrated talk about his life.
Tuesday, Dec 10th, ‘Members’ Evening’: Instead of the usual Christmas Party, we are holding an evening where members are invited to present and share their favourite poem, reading or piece of music. Peter Little has kindly agreed to host the evening.
Tuesday, Jan 21st, ‘Grandma’s Guides and Greys’; Minster and City guide Malcolm Walker returns to talk about his family’s long association with York.
Tuesday, March 24, ‘Mysteries Revealed’: Ivan Martin gives a brief account of the history of the Mystery Plays, then Noel Shouksmith will talk about his involvement with the Guild of Builders’ wagon which participated in the plays.
Tuesday, April 21st, ‘Nightshift at the Minster’: Former policeman at York Minster, Roy Pawsey, gives a fascinating illustrated talk on his experiences safeguarding this famous attraction, especially during the nightshift.
